Shostakovich Discoveries: World Premiere Recordings & Rarities (CD)

Ter gelegenheid van de 50e sterfdag van Dmitri Sjostakovitsj (9 augustus 2025) brengt Deutsche Grammophon wereldpremières en zeldzame werken van de grote Russische componist uit - de meeste opgenomen tijdens het Internationale Sjostakovitsj Festival in Gohrisch (Saksen), het enige jaarlijkse Sjostakovitsjfestival ter wereld. Bijna 80 minuten aan grotendeels onbekende muziek van de componist, uitgevoerd door gerenommeerde artiesten: een must voor elke Sjostakovitsj-fan. Irina Shostakovich, de weduwe van de componist zegt: “I am grateful to the organizers of the International Shostakovich Festival Gohrisch for premiering previously unperformed works by Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich. These works were found by musicologist Olga Digonskaya and published by DSCH Publishers, Moscow. To mark the 50th anniversary of the composer's death, this Deutsche Grammophon album with some of Shostakovich's unknown works has been released.
