In this concert, Trifonov presented Liszt's massive Sonata in B minor, Scriabin's Sonata-Fantaisie in G-sharp minor Op. 19 and Chopin's 24 Préludes Op. 28, as well as the Molto Vivace from Nikolai Medtner's Four Fairy Tales Op. 26, which he played as an encore. The Süddeutsche Zeitung commented on the release with a telling "Finally!"; Norman Lebrecht described Trifonov as a "pianist for the rest of our lives."
